Yeah but I wanted to feel good about things since I know it'll change and there's only so much Obama can do. THe other side of the warm election night feelings was the fact that if we had a decent economy it might not have happened and Sarah Palin would be PResident within a few years. Hell she still may be I guess. In four anyway. If that happens I join a militia and start going all kinds of Project Mayhem on this countries ass.

But on the flip side there was a time even a bad economy wouldn't have been nearly enough to give a black man a chance at the PResidency. So the fact that it wasn't much of an issue was nice.

Not usre I'd categorize all the good ones as Dems. Lincoln was a R. I like the fact that upwards of a year ago when I had read Doris Kearns Goodwin Team Of Rivals I was pulling comparisons to the way I thought Obama would govern if given the chance out of my ass and now that were hear he's following the Lincoln blueprint. Now if you watch enough news shows the very term Team Of Rivals is being used ad naseum and we're finding out BO has been reading it and much other lincoln stuff. SO I got to pat myself on the back for seeing that one coming and recognizing the character of the man a long time ago. WHich I might add I called on Bush's character from day 1 also.

I myself do not. Not that i am in some freakish inexplicable way unhappy at the way it played out. Trust that i was one of the folks pushing over the visage of Emperor Palpatine after the Imperials were defeated at Endor ending the Galactic Civil War. My strife is not so mundane or vapid.

My disdain for this country or ex-British colony, is our lack of consistency. It is understandable that we may elect the occasional dullard, idiot or even legally retarded into our highest office. After 40-something i'd say its good odds. But it is apparently not enough that we elected one, but the same one twice in a row becoming the laughing stock of the fucking free world.

I use the 2000 election as a marker being the first election i could actually vote in and i am sure this is not what Meatloaf meant when he said "2 outta 3 aint bad". I hate to put too fine a point on it but when is everyone going to realize that the good Presidents were open minded, educated Democrats and the assholes were war mongering greedy xenophobes. It is not that hard to spot the black hats.

To sum up, i hate the lack of foresight in this country. I laugh when some ignoramus says "if you don't like it get out". The problem is that i do like this country and a crappy leader is crappy whether i am here or not.
